Located three miles up the road from The Old Course, you will find two impressive championship courses, The Avening and The Cherington. The New Courses were founded to account for the flourishing membership at the Old Course though the first half of the twentieth century. The Avening, a classic parkland layout, was laid down in 1975 and regularly plays host to County, Regional and National Championships. The newer of the 2 courses, The Cherington, was opened in 1995, with its inland style links playing host to the Regional Open Qualifier between 2002 and 2007 and other competitions besides. Both courses provide two distinct golfing challenges, and are highly esteemed by visitors from far and wide.
